How to Monitor Competitor Linkedin Company Pages and Executives in Real Time

Competitor Linkedin moves show up as company posts (launches, pricing, hiring sprees) and as executives posting, commenting, or liking in the same hour. Native Follow is noisy, incomplete, and not anonymous. You miss comments and likes on people, and the other side can see that you follow them.

We build MultiFollow, so here is the honest shape. MultiFollow is an anonymous Linkedin and X (Twitter) activity watchlist. You paste company, showcase, and person URLs (or CSV-import on Business+). We fire when those accounts move. This how-to is the competitor stack: company pages for official narrative, executives for the human signal around it.

For the broader competitor-intel pitch, see Beat the Competition with Real-Time Social Media Monitoring. This post is the setup path.

What you can (and cannot) see on Linkedin competitors

Job to be done: know the moment a named competitor company or executive posts something that changes your battlecard or outbound angle.

Tracker type URL format Activities MultiFollow tracks
Linkedin company page https://www.linkedin.com/company/{name}/ Posts only
Linkedin showcase page https://www.linkedin.com/showcase/{name}/ Posts only
Linkedin person (exec, founder, AE) https://www.linkedin.com/in/{username}/ Posts, comments, likes
X (Twitter) competitor handle https://x.com/{username} Posts and replies (not likes; private since 2024)

Honest limits before you build a list:

Field reference: Trackers docs.

Step 1. Build a short competitor watchlist (company + people)

Do not start with fifty brands. Start with the three competitors that actually steal deals this quarter.

Tip: keep company trackers and exec trackers as separate rows. You will want different keywords and different Slack channels later.

Step 2. Set activity types that match the job

Competitor company / showcase

Competitor executives (people)

Optional X handles

If the goal is "official narrative," company posts are enough. If the goal is "who is talking to our ICP," prioritize people trackers.

Step 3. Add keyword filters so Tuesday stays readable

Without filters, every webinar shout and congrats post lands next to the pricing change you cared about.

On each tracker, use include and exclude keywords (comma-separated, max 10 each, 2-200 characters):

Step 4. Choose delivery and separate company noise from exec signal

Verification checklist:

A practical competitor stack (example)

For one rival brand:

Tracker Activities Include keywords Delivery
Company page Posts launch, pricing, partnership Slack #battles or Clay battlecard table
Showcase (if any) Posts product-line stems Same #battles channel
CEO / founder Posts + comments (likes off) category keywords #signals-outbound
Head of product Posts + comments roadmap, GA, beta #battles
Loud AE Posts + comments buyer-intent stems #signals-outbound

Act from Slack or Clay. MultiFollow is the trigger, not the send button. Reply on the thread, then InMail or email from whatever you already use.

If you also need the moment their website pricing or changelog page changes, that is a different job. Page Deltas watches any URL for content changes. MultiFollow stays on the Linkedin/X people and pages you name.

Plans that unlock this how-to

Company and person trackers work wherever you can create Linkedin trackers, including Free (1 Linkedin + 2 X, best-effort email). Near real-time email starts on Essential. Slack, API webhooks, REST API, MCP, bulk CSV, and team features need Business or above. Verify live on multifollow.io before you buy. Plans are prorated.

Plan Price Linkedin + X trackers Slack / API webhooks
Free $0 1 + 2 No (email, best-effort)
Essential $19/mo 5 + 10 No (near real-time email)
Business $79/mo 25 + 50 Yes (+ REST API, MCP, bulk CSV, team)
Enterprise $199/mo 100 + 200 Yes (+ advanced support)

Frequently asked questions

Do you track comments and likes on Linkedin company pages?

No. Company and showcase pages: posts only. For comments and likes, track people (executives, founders, sellers) as separate person URLs.

Will competitors know I am watching their company page?

No. MultiFollow does not follow or connect on your behalf. Monitoring is anonymous.

Can I monitor Linkedin showcase pages the same way?

Yes. Use https://www.linkedin.com/showcase/{name}/. Same rule as company pages: posts only.

How is this different from following the company on Linkedin?

Native Follow is visible, filtered, and incomplete (Linkedin does not reliably notify you about every post, and people activity is limited). MultiFollow is anonymous, near real-time on paid plans, covers person comments/likes, and can route into Slack or webhooks.

What if I need keyword listening across Reddit or the open web, not a named competitor list?

Different job. KWatch.io is our keyword-listening sibling. MultiFollow stays a named Linkedin/X activity watchlist.

Which plan do I need for Slack alerts on competitor launches?

Business or above. Free and Essential are email only.

Start watching competitors

Create a free account, paste one competitor company URL, add a short include list (launch, pricing), and prove the email fires on a real post. When you need the same alert in Slack or Clay, and room for executives beside the company page, move to Business and expand the watchlist.
